NavAid. . . Software for Mariners

NavAid is a software package which simulates the light flashing sequences of all the major buoys and lightstations. With NavAid, users can observe all cardinal buoys, lateral buoys, special buoys and 10 selected lightstation sequences, a total of 40 buoys and lightstations.

As an example, the designation "(Q(6)+LFl 15s" is commonly found on charts, but what does it really mean? What does it actually look like? What color is the light and what color is the body of the aid? What information does this aid provide to the mariner? What topmarks are on the aid? Will it be lettered or numbered? If you are uncertain of the answers to these questions, you will likely benefit from the use of NavAid.
